TechTeam launches unit for life sciences
IT service provider TechTeam Global has formed a life sciences business unit, building on the pharmaceutical center of excellence it established a year ago. The unit will provide e-clinical support services, as well as service desk and infrastructure management.
TechTeam currently supports more than 500 clinical trials in 25 languages across 25,000 sites worldwide, according to an announcement. Services include multilingual help desk, user and application administration, site assessment, site connectivity, solution provisioning and training. Employees are trained in pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, clinical trial processes and industry-standard e-clinical applications for such functions as electronic and remote data capture and e-diary.
The company was recently named one of the 50 best-managed global IT outsourcing vendors by the Brown-Wilson Group, which authors The Black Book of Outsourcing, on its annual list. The company jumped to 18th place from its 2008 showing at 32nd. The 2009 list was led by HCL Technologies, followed by Oracle, Xerox and Infosys.
Brown-Wilson was acquired this month by Datamonitor.
