Phase Forward boosts automation core

Phase Forward has contracted BMC Software to manage virtual machines in a datacenter running applications that support hosted clinical trials and data capture and management. One objective is to automate the provisioning, deployment and management of servers in the virtualized datacenter. Another is to maintain customer service levels for availability, reliability and compliance.

Thomas Winston, Phase Forward VP for global technical operations, says in an announcement that the goal is to standardize technology processes for business scaling. BMC is also providing simplified auditing and reporting to help the company meet its regulatory requirements.

News of the datacenter automation effort follows other recent business activity: acquisition of Waban Software and the interactive voice and web response services business of Covance, a product launch, and two software releases.
