New chief named for Perceptive Informatics
The CRO giant Parexel International ($PRXL) announced a changing of the guard at its Perceptive Informatics unit, which provides electronic clinical trials (eClinical) software. Healthcare software veteran Xavier Flinois is taking over for Steve Kent as president of Perceptive, the parent company said this morning.
Kent joined Perceptive four years ago through Parexel's 2008 buyout of ClinPhone, where he was CEO. He is leaving Perceptive for "personal reasons," has pitched in to find his successor and is expected to stay on at Perceptive for several months, Parexel said. Flinois, who is stepping into the lead role at Perceptive immediately, comes to the eClinical division from the healthcare IT sector, having served as CEO of Clinical Solutions.
Over the past four years of Kent's leadership, Perceptive has undergone some changes to provide pharma outfits with software to boost the efficiency of clinical trials. For example, the company introduced MyTrials last year to bundle software with a single sign-on feature for hosted software-as-a-service offerings such as its electronic data capture solution called DataLabs.
"We welcome Xavier to the Parexel team, and look forward to drawing upon his extensive industry experience to bring Perceptive Informatics' track record of innovation to new heights and to enhance its suite of hosted software-as-a-service applications for our clients," Mark Goldberg, Parexel's president and COO, said in a statement.
Parexel told FierceBiotech IT that Flinois wasn't available for interviews today.
