Service provider Quintiles is taking a marketing tack to improve patient-recruitment capabilities. The Quintiles Trial Enrollment Accelerator unveiled last week targets site-level enrollment tasks, including creation and placement of recruiting materials. The service provides users a centralized patient outreach campaign, using standard templates for consistent, branded recruitment materials. It also provides access to the company's proprietary opt-in patient database and referral network.

The QTEA debut follows the company's launch of ClinicalResearch.com, an Internet site that helps prospective subjects find appropriate trials, as reported last fall.

Meanwhile, London-based TrialReach has announced a search and referral engine for clinical trials. It combines proprietary search technology, exclusive content, and communication channels between patients and physicians, according to an announcement. The company says it works with trial sponsors and investigators to create multimedia descriptions of the studies and user-friendly pre-screening questionnaires. The solution also allows users to send questions to study investigators.
