Life Technologies divests LIMS business

Life Technologies has agreed to sell its SQL*LIMS lab information management software business to LabVantage Solutions for an undisclosed amount. Under the agreement, LabVantage will continue to support the SQL*LIMS product.

The deal unites SQL*LIMS with the SAPPHIRE LIMS under the LabVantage banner.

SQL*LIMS is a lab process lifecycle product of Applied Biosystems, a part of Life Technologies. The software helps track raw materials and samples as they enter and travel the laboratory workflow: sample analysis, data collection and communication of this information to corporate systems.
