Guide aids in clinical data error checks
Best practices for edit check design have been bundled by the Society for Clinical Data Management into "Edit Check Design Principles." The compilation is a chapter in the society's Good Clinical Data Management Practices.
According to an industry report, the principles provide the ground work on which clinical data managers can establish their data cleaning practices. Such practices are fundamental to ensuring data integrity.
Chapter topics include creation of efficient and accurate edit checks, as well as automated review processes for identifying data errors. The edit-check chapter alone and the complete management practices document are available free to SCDM members and for a fee to non-members.
