Data speed, accuracy gains feted
Phase Forward's work to develop a faster and more accurate data loader for Merck has garnered recognition form the Society for Clinical Data Management. The effort yielded a data loading increase to 100,000 records per hour, up from 1,000, and an 80% drop in errors.
SCDM's annual Data Driven Innovation Award recognizes what the society judges to be the year's best advancement in clinical data management technology via a vendor-sponsor partnership. Runners up this year included collaborative projects between BioClinica and Amylin, BioClinica and Pozen, Greenway and Nextrials, and Medidata and Array.
A collaboration involving Human Genome Sciences (HGS: NASDAQ: HGSI) and DSG on four global Phase III studies concurrently, providing data capture and supporting data management through its eCaseLink EDC software, was the 2008 winner.
