CRO automates test item control
WuXi AppTec has purchased the Provantis preclinical software from Instem for use in a newly constructed, 314,000-square-foot toxicology facility in Suzhou, China. The contract research organization, which purchased modules for its general toxicology, clinical pathology, pathology and formulations departments, will integrate the modules and use them to aid in test item control.
The software targets researchers engaged in non-clinical evaluation studies, says an announcement. It helps users orchestrate the functions of preclinical drug safety assessment, in both GLP and non-GLP environments. The software is also compliant with 21 CFR Part 11.
Another Provantis customer is Merck Serono, which selected Provantis 8 for its R&D lab in Ivrea, Italy, and a facility in recently started a global Toxicology Data Management System.
