In late July, trial enrollment specialist TCN e-Systems introduced mobility via smartphone to its TrialCentralNet e-clinical solution--an app that addresses the needs of clinical teams. TrialCentralNet gives users access to study-goal information, enrollment numbers, key dates, country information, and media metrics through the iPhone and Blackberry. Version 5.2 broadens the solution's language offerings. Those supported are Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Release

CancerTrials App, by GlaxoSmithKline and Medtrust

CancerTrials App helps doctors find trials for patients. It's developed for the iPhone and iPad and connects to MedTrust Online's oncology databases. The free application provides a search menu based on 12 common cancers. Users can refine searches based on such criteria as subject gender and age, and trial status. Once users locate relevant trials, they can map results relative to the iPhone location. Release

CT, by TrialX

Healthcare IT company TrialX launched an application in April 2009 that allows Twitter users to find clinical trials. Users tweet TrialX using the keyword "CT" for clinical trial, and provide a few health profile details ("I'm a 55 year-old male with prostate cancer looking for trials in Columbus, OH").
